Delfini Beach Hotel
Delfini Beach Hotel is one of the many historical buildings in the city of Rethymno, in the island of Crete. Was originally built in 1886, right in front of the beach and was initially the summer residence of the Turkish Lord in Rethymno, Alpan Passah. Later on, during the 20th century, it was turned into a Girl’s School and after the war it was converted to a sardine factory as it was located right on the seashore. After several years of abandonment, in 1985 it became the Delfini Beach Hotel. The hotel was renovated in 1999. It is located at a distance of 1 km from the city center which is the Square of the 4 Martyrs and the Municipal Garden. It offers unique views to the Cretan Sea and the Venetian castle of ‘Fortezza’ and includes a wonderful private beach right in front of the hotel where you can relax and enjoy the sun and the sea with a cool beverage.
Delfini Beach Hotel includes 12 spacious maisonettes (split level) with large balconies and verandas that have wonderful sea views and a panoramic view of the Venetian castle of ‘Fortezza’ and the Old Town of Rethymno. There are 3 types of rooms for you to choose from: apartment, superior apartment with pool view and superior apartment with sea view. Each maisonette can accommodate up to 4 people and is sound-proofed. The maisonettes are decorated with style and have air conditioning, free WiFi, a TV set, bath with hair dryer, a safe box, fridge/mini bar and a dial telephone.
The hotel also has to offer a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi where you can relax. Unique culinary delicacies are waiting for you in the beautifully decorated interior restaurant & bar ‘Almira’ or the exterior tavern overlooking the Cretan Sea. A rich breakfast is served every morning.
The hotel’s reception is available for 12 hours during the day while currency conversion is also available. There are safe boxes for your precious belongings and a fax and mail service. You can also use a shared computer with internet access to check your e-mails.
The city of Rethymno has one of the largest cycle networks in Greece that gives you a wonderful opportunity to explore the city and the long sandy beach. Free public parking is available at a nearby location while private parking is possible on site but charges may apply (reservation is not needed).
The Heraklion International Airport is about 86 km away while the Chania International Airport is about 66km away. The Archaeological Museum of Rethymno is 2.5 km away and the Venetian Castle of ‘Fortezza’ along with the Venetian port are at a distance of 2km. The long sandy beach of Rethymno can be found within a distance of 3 km.
